Jon “Scott” Huerta, 58, of Clovis, NM passed away on September 13, 2022 in Lubbock, TX

Scott was born in Clovis, NM to Jesse and Margaret Huerta on March 26, 1964. He went to school in Clovis, NM. He married Susie Lopez on April 9, 2022 in Clovis, NM. He worked as a painter and in the construction business for 40 years.

Scott was preceded in death by his father Jesse Huerta, his mother Margaret Huerta and his brother Kevin Hastings.

Scott is survived by his wife Susie Huerta, two daughters Brittany (BJ) Rozzell and Jennifer (Michael) Norie, a stepson Josh Gallegos (Katrina), four brothers Jerry Hastings (Rita), Mike Huerta (Nancy), Joey Huerta (Penny) and Mark Huerta (Becky), four sisters Laura Landers (Johnny), Mia Wooten (Joe), Denise Reames and Lisa Durant (Ron), six grandchildren Maggie, Kate, Claire and Madeleine Rozzell and Brynn and Corbyn Sanders. He had numerous nieces and nephews and was called “Uncle Buck” by some.

Scott loved his family and was always there when needed. He was always a phone call away and would be there to help with anything he could. He was loved dearly by his wife, in-laws and the entire Lopez family. He will be greatly missed.

He loved the outdoors, camping and fishing especially in Pecos Wilderness. He loved country music and was an amazing two-stepper. The Cowboys were his team. He loved watching football with the guys. He loved cooking and made the best French toast ever.

He and his daughter Jennifer started their days with “What are we doing today, Daddio.” And he would reply “Same thing we do every day, kiddo. Try to take over the world.”
