June Bradford

April 17, 1947 — June 19, 2020

On June 19th, at age 73, June went home to be with her Lord.

June was born to R.L. and Alyne Douglas, and having lost her mother at an early age, she was raised by her grandmother, Nanny. Being raised on a farm near Bovina, she learned to be self-sufficient and to can and put up vegetables. She also was a fabulous cook as her Nanny passed this skill on to June as well. Moreover, because of her childhood on the farm, she grew to have a love for animals and helped her dad raise six young pheasants that were hatched from eggs, bottle-fed and raised baby raccoons, and loved and cared for numerous dogs and cats.

June was raised in the Baptist faith and taught herself to play the piano with help from her Nanny. In her adult years, June played the organ and piano for High Plains and First Baptist Church of which she was a member. She also sang in the choir, worked in Vacation Bible School, and taught in AWANA's. She was especially good with young children that would try the patience of most people. June also enjoyed visiting local nursing homes with her friend and playing hymns and special music to the delight of the residents.

June met a young man, Gerard Bradford, while dragging Main Street in Clovis, and less than a year later they were married in 1965. This marriage would have celebrated 55 years this July. Two daughters, Laurie and Jamie, were born to this union.

June will most fondly be remembered by her family for being a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always made time for her family and offered help and support to anyone that needed it.

June was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and one granddaughter.

June is survived by her husband, Gerard Bradford; two daughters: Laurie (Glen) Vienneau and Jamie (Michael Vandiver) Saldana; Son-n-law, James Saldana; four grandchildren: Jessica (Trevor) Thron, Kimberly Vienneau, Chase (Ryan) Saldana, Autumn Saldana; and many loving felines who miss her dearly.

Per June's wishes, no services will be held.
