Lamont Jefferson

Lamont Anthony Jefferson passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 in Clovis, New Mexico.  Lamont was born in Baltimore Maryland at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore to Louise Hazel Jones.  He was raised in New Mexico by his legal guardians Marvin Dwight Godwin and Viola Veney (Godwin).  Lamont graduated from El Paso High School. After graduation he moved back to Clovis, New Mexico and worked as an Inventory Control Specialists for several years.

Lamont was one of the most polite and kindest people you could meet. He was also a very gifted artist and writer.  Lamont will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.  His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his biological parent Louise Jones (Wade Sr.), of Greensboro, NC, the parents that raised him Dwight Godwin of Clovis, NM and Viola Veney of Thomasville, NC, his siblings, Eugene Hampton of York, PA, Wade Jones Jr. of Greensboro, NC, Wynell Jones of Greensboro, NC, his grandmother Betty Collins of Thomasville, NC, and many loving Uncles, Aunts, cousins and friends in PA, NC, FL, TX and NM.
