Lucille "Lucy" Perales

Lucille “Lucy” Perales, 73, of Clovis, New Mexico passed away in Amarillo, TX on April 15, 2021 from Covid-19.

Lucy was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico US territory on August 12, 1947 to parents; Bonifacio Ortiz and Maria (Soto) Ortiz.

Lucy married the love her life, Guillermo Perales, on March 5, 1967 in Brooklyn, New York before the couple relocated to Clovis, New Mexico. The two built a life and family and had five sons: Guillermo Jr., Edgar, Michael, William, and Sammy as well as one daughter, Michelle. Lucy enjoyed bowling with her bowling league, listening to Motown music, and is described by family as being “an incredible cook.” Lucy worked at both the schools and hospital in Clovis, NM until retiring in 2006. Retirement did not stop Lucy from her goals, she remained busy providing foster care for in-need children.

Lucy cherished her family, and will be remembered as an outstanding Grandma, and Great Grandma.

Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, and 2 sons.

Lucy is survived by loving husband; Guillermo Perales, sons; Michael Ortiz, William (Kathy) Perales, and Sammy Figueroa all of Clovis, NM, and daughter; Michelle (Humberto) Perales  of Hereford, TX.

Lucy is also survived by siblings, brother; Abraham Ortiz sisters; Aida  Beaudry, and Iris Ortiz all of Punta Gorda, FL.

Pallbearers include: Guillermo Campos, Herman Chavez, Jayden Perales, William Turpin, Marissa Cruz, Matthew Perales, Mason Figueroa, Kaiden Campos, and Joey Perales.

A public visitation will be held at Steed Todd Funeral Home on April 20, 2021 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

A funeral service for Lucy will be held on April 21, 2021 at 10:00am at the Steed Todd Funeral Home Chapel located at 800 E. Manana Blvd. Clovis, NM 88101.
