Milda King

February 4, 1917 — July 10, 2021

Clovis, New Mexico

Mrs. Milda Elizabeth (Vorwerk) King, of Clovis, New Mexico is now residing in her heavenly mansion. Ms. Milda passed away in her home, at 104 years of age, on July 10, 2021. Milda was born on February 4, 1917, in St. Paul, Minnesota to parents Paul and Elizabeth (Meyers) Vorwerk. Milda was the eldest of 6 siblings and was a great help to her parents, as they lived on a farm. Ms. Milda met a handsome cowboy, named Mr. Fred King, and married him in 1936 on New Year’s Day. Fred and Milda created a beautiful life together and Ms. Milda was a grand homemaker. She loved to cook and host friends and family to her incredible dinners. Milda was an artist when it came to most everything but especially Christmas, making it special every year for all her family.

Mr. Fred and Milda relocated frequently during their life together, due to Fred’s promotions as head cattle buyer for Swift & Co. but after every move Milda had the family all set up in a beautiful new home. Their final move landed them in Clovis, NM and 13 years later, the love of her life passed away. After losing Fred Milda focused on her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Her home was a favorite after school stop for everyone due to her loving nature and homemade brownies and cinnamon rolls. Milda loved to read and often read 2-3 books every week even in her final days. Ms. Milda loved to sing and dance, and she always exuded an incredibly sassy spirit. Milda will be remembered for always taking care of everyone in her family in generous and kind ways.

Her family truly loves and adores her and will miss her tremendously.

Milda is preceded in death by her loving husband; Fred King, parents; Paul and Elizabeth Vorwerk, as well as siblings; Paul and Rich Vorwerk and Lois staples.

Milda is survived by daughters; Patty (Larry) Gouker and Jan Hardisty, siblings; Henry and Russel Vorwerk, grandchildren; Sherry Petit, Johnny (Jill) Gouker, Kelly Tabacchi, and Dustin (Amy) Hardisty, great grandchildren; Briana (Chris) Golder, Erica (Brett) Walton, Seth Gouker, Zoe Petit, Alec Gouker, Asher Hardisty, Mossimo Tabacchi, Ansley Hardisty, and 5 great-great grandchildren; Jacquelyn, Luke, Oden, and Ian.
