Services are scheduled at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, Friday, September 3rd at 2pm for Dixie Raylene Washburn of Portales, New Mexico

After a 4 year battle with cancer Raylene, 63, passed on August 20, 2021 in Portales, New Mexico.

A family graveside service will be held at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis, New Mexico.  Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Washburn, David Pierce, Edwin Washburn, Claud Washburn, Michael Smith, Dustin Siliceo, Aidan Siliceo, & Tanner Stokes.

Raylene was born on May 4, 1958 in Deming, NM, the daughter of Claude "Pat" Pierce and Barbara (Moore) Pierce. She was the youngest of 3 and the only daughter. Raylene married Edwin "Gene" Washburn on February 23, 1977 in Morton, Texas. She graduated with her bachelors degree from Eastern New Mexico University Portales in December of 2003.

Raylene was an avid reader, which she passed down to her children. She also was talented at crocheting and sewing. She enjoyed all things computer related and played computer and video games through out her life. Raylene was a member of a Barbie Collectors group and has an extensive and varied collection of Barbie dolls.

Raylene was preceded in death by her Father Claude "Pat" Pierce, her mother Barbara (Moore) Pierce, her oldest brother Claude Pierce, and 4 grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Edwin "Gene" Washburn of Portales, her 4 children Michael Smith of Hobbs NM, Melissa Siliceo (Dustin Siliceo) of Clovis NM, Claud Washburn (Cessna Berlin) of Portales NM, Edwin Washburn of Portales NM, a brother David Pierce (Jackie Porter) of Prescott, Arizona and Grandchildren Amber Nichole Washburn (Tanner Stokes), Colton Washburn, Aidan Siliceo, Addison Siliceo, and Skylar Smith.
